Barcelona Airport Train

BCN Airport to Train Station Transportation

If you need to get from the airport to the train station, you have a pretty good option out of the airport. Running approximately every 30 minutes from Terminal 2 is the local train that will bring you into the city center and surrounding areas.

The journey takes about 20-25 minutes depending on the station you’re needing to go to.

If you arrive in Terminal 1 but need to catch the train, don’t fret. There is a free shuttle bus that runs between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 every day. The bus ride takes about 10 minutes but always air on the side of caution when transferring terminals.

Tickets cost 4.50 Euros into Barcelona. Buy your ticket in one of the vending machines in Renfe station at Terminal 2.

Keep in mind that if you arrive into Terminal one you will need to take the green shuttle bus that connects T1 and T2. The station is a three minute walk from the terminal. It departs every half hour beginning at 5:42AM and ending at 11:28PM. Factor in the shuttle time to your train’s departure time to avoid waiting half an hour in a crowded station for the next train.

The train stops at two stations in Barcelona, Estació Sants and Passeig de Gràcia. You are looking for the R2 North Line to city center. Stops are as follows: Airport – El Prat de Llobregat – Bellvitge – Barcelona Sants Railway Station – Paseo de Gracia – França Railway Station.

You can get off at Barcelona Sants, Passeig de Gracia or Clot to connect as needed to the metro system to reach your final destination.
