Barcelona Airport Terminal 2
Terminal 2 is Barcelona–El Prat’s older terminal complex, on the north side of the airport. Originally the airport’s terminals A, B and C — expanded for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics — it is now split into three connected sections, T2A, T2B and T2C, and handles roughly 30% of the airport’s flights. Today it is used mainly by low-cost and regional carriers, and it is the only terminal with its own train station.

Where is T2?
Terminal 2 is on the north side of Barcelona–El Prat Airport, with its own train (R2 Nord) and Metro L9 Sud station next to T2B. Terminal 1 is a short free shuttle-bus ride away.

T2B — Main section
The busiest section: most check-in desks and departures, with direct access to the Rodalies R2 Nord train and Metro L9 Sud right outside.
T2C — easyJet departures
Used mainly for easyJet departures; a short walk from T2B along the landside walkway.
T2A — Limited use
The oldest hall; not currently used for scheduled departures, though it forms part of the T2 complex.
The three sections (T2A, T2B, T2C) are easy to walk between landside but are not connected airside via the public areas. Only T2B and T2C are used for departures. Arriving by train or Metro you reach the first floor of T2B; check-in desks are on the ground floor. Compared with T1, T2 is compact, so walks to the gates are short.

Lounge (Sala VIP)
A Sala VIP lounge is available at T2 with drinks, snacks, Wi-Fi and flight information. Day passes can be bought through AENA VIP.
Accessibility (PRM)
Reduced-mobility assistance on request, lifts, ramps and accessible restrooms. PRM information points are in the arrivals area.
Family Services
Baby-care facilities and children’s areas, with family-friendly seating around the departure lounges.
Wi-Fi & charging
Free, unlimited Wi-Fi via the "Airport Free Wi-Fi AENA" network throughout T2, with charging points near the gates.

T2B has direct Rodalies R2 Nord trains to Barcelona (Sants, Passeig de Gràcia) and Metro L9 Sud, plus the Aerobus A2, taxis, car hire and the free shuttle to T1.

Car rental at T2
These are the official car-hire desks at Terminal 2, together in the T2B arrivals hall just after customs. Most open around 07:00–00:00. Booking online in advance is usually cheaper than the counter, especially in summer and during major events. Desk list and phone numbers below are from Aena, the airport operator.

Check-in counters
- Most airlines check in on the ground floor of T2B — a long row of desks organised by airline; watch the screens for yours.
- easyJet checks in and departs from T2C, a short walk along the landside walkway.
- Self-check-in and bag-drop kiosks are available for most low-cost carriers.
Security & boarding
- Each active section (T2B and T2C) has its own security control — follow the signs for Schengen and non-Schengen flights.
- T2 is compact, so walks from security to the gates are short compared with T1.
- Gate assignments are shown on the monitors; keep an eye on them, as there is no public-address gate announcement.
- Confirm you are flying from T2, not T1 — the two terminals are around 4 km apart, not connected airside, and linked only by a free 24/7 shuttle bus (about 10–15 minutes).
- Arriving by train or Metro, you enter the first floor of T2B; go down to the ground floor for the check-in desks.
- Pack light if flying with a budget airline — cabin-baggage rules are strict and are checked at the gate.
- Arrive about 2 hours before European flights and 1.5 hours before domestic ones; T2 is compact but low-cost queues can be long at peak times.
- easyJet uses T2C while most other airlines use T2B — check your section before going through security.
